Board of Directors Meetings Schedule 2007 All meetings will be held on Saturdays from 10 am - 12 unless otherwise stated.
Online Meetings You will need Yahoo Instant Messenger to attend. Yahoo IM is a free download. You can go to http://messenger.yahoo.com/ , click on the "get it now" button in the "Windows Live™ Messenger" box and follow the directions. Then email Peggy with your screen name and we'll make sure to add you to the live conference. If you have any difficulty with getting that download, contact Andrew (ASLeyvaSCRID@yahoo.com) and we'll get you going. We recommend you do this well in advance of the meeting as it takes about 30 minutess to get set up.
Meeting protocol
Agenda items and reports are to be submitted electronically at least 24 hours prior to meeting commencement. All spectators are welcome, but if anyone would like a chance to present an item to the board, the intent and content must be submitted at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled meeting time. All items may be submitted by sending an email to ASLeyvaSCRID@yahoo.com.
All items not submitted for approval will not be considered for discussion that meeting, unless extenuating circumstances or urgency warrants immediate action. Those items must be submitted at the beginning of the meeting under "approval of agenda" which is the first order of business at the meetings. The SCRID Board of Directors thanks you for your cooperation.
Online Meeting protocol
Agenda can be found on the SCRID website prior to the scheduled meeting time.
Help the president to keep the meeting going smoothly by keeping on topic. If necessary, we will use this format for managing online meetings: ! = request for the floor (Pres will acknowledge) ? = you would like to ask a question ~ = not finished: more will be seen in the next transmission Emoticons or smiley faces are welcome.
To create a safe environment, please do your best to acknowledge others’ contributions and respect their feelings. Disagreement is a healthy part of any public forum. It is important to disagree or offer suggestions respectfully.
Although jokes always make for a more interesting meetings, keep in mind that the chat is a public forum. Further, the chat will be saved and kept as unofficial record primarily for verifying minutes. Do not type anything that you would not like to see in print at a later time.
Side chats are possible by double-clicking on the person’s screen name on the chat room list. Please respect others’ privacy by requesting chats with those you feel will welcome you. If in doubt, always ask permission. Side chat records are not kept as part of the meeting minutes. Joke away.
To save time, if you predict you will be speaking on a certain topic, you can type your message ahead of time and copy/paste it into the “type message” box. Keep in mind that message boxes hold a limited number of characters. You may have to divide your statements into parts and send them separately in order to get your entire text into the chat. |
