April 2008 SAID Update!!!

 

The Student Association of Interpreters for the Deaf (SAID) held it’s first meeting on March 4, 2008 and as of March 10th became an official RCC Club!  Below is the newest information available.

 

 

Executive Board                                                                                          

  1. Faculty Advisor – Diana MacDougall

  3. Vice President – Lisa Murillo

  4. Director of Professional Development – Jenny Brown

  5. Secretary – Shamica Kelly

  4. Student Agency – Lisa Murillo

 

 

Membership

  1. Open to all Deaf Students

  2. Open to all students enrolled in an ASL or Interpreting Class

  3. $10/Semester

 

 

Meetings

  1. Every Other Monday

    Quad 120 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm Every other Monday meeting is ASL Only

  2. Every Other Tuesday

    Quad 107 12:50 pm – 1:50 pm Every Other Tuesday Meeting is ASL Only

  3. Guest Speaker Meetings

    Will be ASL only, provided the speaker knows ASL

 

 

Contests

  1. Logo Contest!!

    Students were asked to design an original logo that will be used on letter head, business card, t-shirts, etc.

    Assembly will vote, majority rules

  2. Name the Agency

    Students were asked to submit original names for our Student Agency

    Assembly will vote, majority rules

  3. Name the newsletter

    Students were asked to submit original names for the SAID newsletter

    Assembly will vote, majority rules

Fundraiser

In order to successfully get our club off the ground we felt it necessary to have a fundraiser to increase the clubs trust account.  Details coming soon!!

 

 

Website

We have begun working on our own Website, which is still under construction.
