What is the Student Representative Committee?

 

Student Representatives are an integral component of SCRID and we need their input to enhance the professionalism, diversity, integrity and growth of the interpreting field.

 

 The Student Representative Committee’s goals: 

  • Establish a network between Interpreter Training Programs and SCRID, which are within SCRID’s purview.

  • Keep Interpreter Training Program students abreast of what is going on at SCRID and the current changes in the interpreting field that affect students and their future as interpreters.

  • Keep SCRID informed about their Interpreter Training Programs and the changes that will affect our field.

  • Support the Gap - This annual SCRID sponsored event brings resources together which help pre-certified interpreters achieve their goal of certification.  This event includes: 

    • A panel of interpreters for a questions and answer session

    • Employment opportunities

    • Networking with students and professionals
