SCRID is an affiliate chapter of the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID). It is the mission of Southern California Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf to provide local forums and an organizational structure for the continued growth and development of the professions of interpretation and transliteration of American Sign Language and English.

School districts used to be the first job for newly-graduated ITP students.  Since 2007, new state standards for K-12 interpreters require a 4.0 on the EIPA or ESSE, or RID/NAD certification.  Whaaa?  What’s all the fuss?  Join us to find out about the intricacies of interpreting in K-12 settings: Interpreter standards, IEPs, Common Core Curriculum, Student language samples, and more!
