Some knowledge Required.

Join us as we dive into the Twin Terrors of Signing:  Fingerspelling and Classifiers!

Come and take another look at these twin terrors. You will improve your understanding and practice how to use these two major components of ASL. In a lecture/group-work format, participants will learn foundational principles of fingerspelling and classifiers based on current literature. Most ASL interpreters are L2 ASL users, and as such, these two elements of ASL don't come naturally to them. Participants will practice skills, focusing on encoding and decoding fingerspelling and classifers.Topics will include rapid and lexical fingerspelling as well as classifiers by type and formation as sentence predicates.

RID CEUs:  0.375 PS CEUs

This workshop will be conducted in American Sign Language

(No voice interpretation will be provided)
