General Members Meeting

General Liability Insurance

The GL policy is due to expire July 1, 2011.  In April, SCRID began working with Charity One Insurance for the second year in a row to seek renewal bids.  While there is two months remaining on the current policy, given the term of the Secretary ends in June, the goal, at a minimum, is to have a GL policy proposals ready for review prior to the new Secretary taking office to lessen the stress of the transition.

Renewal proposals are expected to begin to arrive the first week of June 2011.

Bylaws

At the last General Members Meeting the Board had planned to change the bylaws to have the term of the officers stagger rather than all turn over at the same time.  The reason was to alleviate any erroneous errors which had occurred in the past.  After several monthly board meetings and discussions with previous board officers it had been determined to not have the terms stagger as it would cause an annual election to fill the vacancies of offices.  Given the enormous efforts to fill the Secretary and President position with the current elections being held the decision to leave the terms as-is has proven to be the smart decision.

2011 Region V Conference

The Secretary represented SCRID at the Region V Conference Business Meetings and luncheons last summer in the stead of President Taylor.  The PowerPoint used at the business meeting can be found on file.
